Matt McDermott is Head of Community at nEdEx, bringing a wealth of experience in network-building, event design, and sector engagement. He previously founded a successful education association, where he led the development of national conferences and initiatives that connected trust leaders, policymakers, and practitioners around shared challenges and bold ideas. Known for his ability to connect many education professionals, Matt has helped shape events that lead to improved collaboration within the sector.
With a background in strategic partnerships and programme design, Matt has worked across the education sector to foster inclusive, values-led communities. His work is rooted in a belief that professional networks should be energising, practical, and deeply human, supporting leaders not just with insight, but with connection. At nEdEx, he leads on community and events strategy.
